Neoclassical onyx hardstone cameo of Neptune

Description

This is a nice and expressive Neoclassical layered onyx cameo, dating to the 19th century. It is cut with Neptune (god of the seas) holding his trident. The cameo is cut on the white layer to contrast with the black layer. It is a very well sculpted piece of miniature art.
