Description
This gorgeous Georgian mourning ring contains the information for three family members! It is a very special ring that is a true collectors piece. The top reads Saml. Bourne OB 4 May 1803. Æ48. Underneath reads Jane Bourne, obt. Novr 20th 1802. Æt 80. (Meaning that Jane Bourne would have been born in 1722 or 1721! Just imagine all that she saw and lived!) The out side of the band reads J. Helena 1818 aged 66. It’s incredibly rare to find a ring that commemorates the lives of three individuals. It was most likely worn by the same person for decades. The citrine was set in antiquity and replaced the hair locket that probably broke at some point which is not uncommon. The bezel has some wear but the stone is still secure, please see photos. It is currently a size 7.5 but could be sized some by a skilled jeweler. 9ct rosy yellow antique gold
I do offer layaway.
