RARE AND VERY COLLECTIBLE  ca 1820 Georgian mourning pin brooch with seed pearls 9 k rose gold.
I have 2 very similar mourning brooches. This one is oval the other one is rectangular. Both from the same estate and both belonged to the same woman see my other listings and the last picture.
It goes without saying that this listing is ONLY for the oval brooch (picture of two only shown for comparison and illustration purposes).

Details:
Georgian era:
~1820s pin brooch -  which could easily be converted into a pendant by a competent jeweler (I currently do not offer this service)
Rare find:
200+ year old pins in this condition are rare to find
Mourning jewelry:

Hairwork or jewelry made of hum hair has appeared throughout the history of craft work, particularly those mdade to be used for private worship and mourning.  From the Middle Ages through the early twentieth century, memorial hair jewelry remained common. Hair, considered to be a remnant off the person it was cut from, also has often played a part in myths and legends
Metal:
9k rose gold not marked but tested (very normal for an antique item of this age) - pls note: rose gold had a lighter tone 200 years ago than now. The alloy might have been different
Details:
Very nicely surrounded by the seed pearls; back is plain gold
A seed pearl is a small natural pearl formed in either saltwater oyster or freshwater mussel that is usually less than 2 millimeters in diameter.
In good condition - glass has small dust specs inside. Again this is a 200+ year old item. Pin itself is not gold (most of the pins attached to the brooches are not gold)
No repairs, no issues, glass is intact
Pin is a bit warped (again very normal when worn again this is an antique item)

9k gold is not as yellow as 14 or 18k gold (see information on alloys above).

Condition:
Please level with me: I don't sell my items for 1000s of $$. Items are reasonably priced and many are collector's items and very old. I CANNOT go over items with a loupe mentioning every little fleck, scratch or perceived imperfections. Most of these items are 2 centuries old. Item is in good USED PRE-OWNED condition with normal wear for a very very old item  - not new as new or anything else.
It is an ANTIQUE  200+ years old used pin with normal wear.
- The glass has little white dots (see pictures) which are dust specs but is in good condition.
- The braided hair under glass is fine
- The pin (not the brooch) itself is slightly warped. This is a nice antique mourning pin.
