    Description

Please read all the information below.
    History and Highlights:
+ Farm truck originally from Eagle Grove, Iowa purchased by me in Greene, Iowa in 2003 (documentation available)
+ Truck was complete but had been non-running and parked outside for years before purchase
+ Original Ford 80 HP, 226 CID flathead, 6-cylinder G-series engine was "stuck"
+ Engine was removed, professionally re-built, and painted
    + New clutch was installed
+ Original gas tank was removed, chemically cleaned (dipped)
+ Original frame is solid (no rust holes or steel softness)
+ Inner fenders, engine components and front end components were cleaned and painted
+ Original three speed manual transmission in good working condition was removed, cleaned, and painted
+ 3.78:1 original "banjo" rear end was rebuilt and rear end/axle assembly was painted
+ NOS canister-style muffler was installed and exhaust system is in good condition and quiet
+ Broken front springs were replaced with new
+ Original Houdaille (pronounced "hoo-day") front lever shocks were professionally re-built
+ Brake lines, master cylinder, slave cylinders, brake drums, brake shoes were all replaced with new
+ Parking brake cable is free and parking brake works
    + Carburetor was professionally re-built
+ Mechanical fuel pump was professionally re-built with ethanol resistant internals
+ Truck runs, drives, and stops
+ Four running tires are newer Coker Classic inner tube tires of correct original OEM specification
    + Wiring harness was replaced
+ Gauges, lights, and horn work
    + Battery cable (gauge) upgraded
+ 6-volt positive ground system (w/generator) changed to negative ground (w/6-volt alternator)
+ Auxiliary cooling fan (with dash switch control) was installed in front of radiator
+ Truck has been in dry garage storage last eighteen years during various stages of refurbishment
+ Truck is numbers matching: Engine number (VIN) on glove box tag, VIN stamp on frame rail, VIN stamp on transmission
+ New under-bed oak wood was sealed and installed to replace broken rotted original wood
+ Two bent and/or broken under-bed cross members were replaced
+ Rear axle has overload springs (must've carried heavy farm loads, e.g. bent/broken bed cross members)
+ Original seat springs were chemically cleaned (dipped) and painted
+ I put wood in passenger side of cab floor as temp fix for rust hole (cowl vent left open allowing water infiltration before I owned truck)
+ Comes with original factory option cab heater and controls (removed and not yet refurbished)
+ Vacuum windshield wiper motor professionally rebuilt and installed (needs new windshield wiper assembly)
+ Some body work (note aged body filler) begun by previous owner(s) a long time ago
+ Cab corners look solid but upon close inspection do show some rust pinholes
+ Small areas of rust-through on lower back of left front fender and on left side of tail gate valance
+ The exterior appearance remains "as found," Mother Nature's "paint" applied over 74 years
+ All glass (with Ford factory etch marks) in OK condition with a few areas of minor clouding and a couple of glass chips
+ Has clean Illinois Title and current (antique vehicle) registration
    Further Considerations:
The truck does not have modern chassis and electrical systems so it drives, handles, and stops similar to what a driver may've  experienced in 1947. Because of this I would say the maximum trusted speed would be about 40 MPH. I personally don't drive the vehicle on local state of county roads preferring instead, for safety reasons, to drive at slower speeds (30 MPH or less) on neighborhood streets which are considerably less busy. A new owner who may run the truck "as is" will need to decide when, where, and how to run it. It will definitely need trailering to a new home.
The truck runs, drives, and stops OK but starting is sometimes inconsistent, especially after the truck reaches operating temperature and is shut off (possibly needs a new coil or fuel line vapor lock remediation?). Once the truck begins to cool down it generally re-starts OK. This will need to be further investigated.
Sometimes the steering column/ignition switch lock key sticks in the key cylinder so I keep the key in the unlocked position. Installing a new key cylinder would solve this issue.
I've enjoyed my eighteen year "journey" with this truck (nicknamed, "Franklin"). Now age and recent lost employment have compelled  review of family finances and reluctantly forced me to find a new home (for Franklin).
I'll include some extra parts and applicable documents to a new owner.
The truck is being sold "as is" and "where is" with no warranties expressed or implied. I've set what I consider to be a reasonable reserve in hopes to make a sale from this initial auction. If feasible for a potential bidder, inspection of the vehicle is encouraged.
A 0 PayPal payment is required within one day of auction purchase. Payment of the final balance should be made by cash/certified bank check within seven days.
Arranging transport will be the buyer's responsibility. I'll work with the buyer to make sure of my availability so transport goes smoothly. The buyer should arrange pick up within two weeks of purchase.
PLEASE NOTE: I don't use the eBay Motors app. If you want to ask me a question or arrange inspection, please use the "Contact Seller" option in the listing.
